The Rotary Club of Lower Blue Mountains has pleasure in hosting the Combined Services Dinner for 2008
The evening provides the opportunity for community minded people from a wide range of clubs and organisations in the Penrith/Lower Blue Mountains and surrounding areas to gather together for an evening of fellowship and networking. This year a special effort has been made to keep the cost low while still ensuring you will have a pleasant evening.
Our Guest Speaker will be Sandy MacGregor. Sandy retired from a distinguished and varied army career with the rank of colonel. During his time in the Army Sandy served in Vietnam where, as a young engineer officer he commanded the tunnel rats, the soldiers who entered the Vietcong tunnels and fought so effectively that the Americans adopted their techniques. For his achievements Sandy was awarded the Military Cross.
Since leaving the Army, Sandy has conducted courses and seminars on 'Creative Accelerated Learning Method', a technique of dealing with a range of personal issues and achieving higher levels of accomplishment. For those who want to gain insight into Sandy's topic before the night, you can refer to his website at www.calm.com.au
Sandy is also the patron of MiVAC, a group formed by Vietnam veterans to undertake mine clearance in Asian countries and to develop village infrastructure so that cleared land may be farmed effectively. Their website is at www.mivactrust.org . The nights raffle will support MiVAC
We hope that you will be able to join us. A booking form and some ideas on making the most of the evening are attached.
Yours faithfully,
Karalyn Brown
