INDUCTION CEREMONIES - for a new member - for a former Rotarian
Induction Ceremony for a New Member
YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS A REPRESENTATIVE of your chosen vocation in this Rotary Club, because we believe that you have the qualities to be a good Rotarian and to carry the message of Rotary to those in your vocation as well as to those in other walks of life.
ROTARY STANDS FOR FELLOWSHIP AND SERVICE - in your home life, in your business relations, in your community life and in the cause of international goodwill and understanding.
THE COMMUNITY will know and judge Rotary by your example in character and service, and we are confident that our Club’s fellowship and service will be strengthened by your association with us.
I WOULD REMIND YOU that the privileges of membership carry with them corresponding duties and obligations which have been explained to you by the Rotary Information committee. While you are now becoming a member of this Rotary Club, we cannot make you a true Rotarian - that is a distinction you must gain by your own efforts.
I NOW HAVE PLEASURE in presenting to you this Rotary Badge which you should wear with pride. I commend to you this literature which you will enjoy reading and it will also inform you about Rotary’s activity world-wide.
YOU HAVE BEEN APPOINTED TO [name of service committee] Committee, under chairman [name of committee chairman].
MUCH IS EXPECTED of you in help and inspiration to enable us to better serve society I CONGRATULATE YOU and welcome you to Rotary Fellowship.
FELLOWS, join me in extending a warm welcome to our new member [name of new member].
